Ute Hagen, born in Meissen, Germany, entered an apprenticeship for cabinet making at age 16 in Oberursel, Germany, and received her Journeyman Diploma in 1963. Later she studied art under the tutelage of distinguished artists like Gerda Werner and Georg Hieronymi in Germany, with Gita Segerscog in Mexico City and the “Emily Carr College of Art” in Vancouver, Canada. Living now in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, Ute has participated in numerous exhibitions, solo- and collective shows, in Germany, Canada and Mexico. Her work is in private collections in Mexico, U.S.A., Canada, England , Ireland, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and Bahamas. Ute realized her first solo show at age 15 at the Heinrich Olle Gallery, Oberursel, Germany (1959).
